bonne idée: OFFER NOURISHING COMFORT FOOD IN A COZY MILIEU.

 

Welcome to Bonnie Day. This cozy, candlelit resto is an homage to our late, great uncle/dad, the playwright David King, who loved nothing more than to gather and break bread with his nearest and dearest.

On the many occasions where we’d come together and discuss where to go for dinner or a drink, we’d toss around suggestions lightly for a couple minutes - all the while with David silently withholding his opinion - then, as soon as someone struck on THE one, David would cheer, "Bonnie day!" It's a double entendre that is both a nod to our Scottish ancestors, meaning a 'beautiful day,' while you at once hear 'bonne idée' - the French exclamation of 'good idea.' 

Our menu offers comfort food that is both nourishing and inclusive to our vegan and gluten-free friends, as well as the omnivores and sweet-toothed pals in our poche.

Enjoy our cocktail menu composed in collaboration by all Bartenders-in-Residence and/or our curated selection of natural wines thoughtfully.
